Why do remote controls for TVs, VCRs, and stereos use infrared light rather than ultraviolet light? - stereo vcrs sorry in nc

Why do you think this is the case?

Although I believe has very good reasons to take in the first two answers, there is another advantage of using IR to UV - longer the batteries. This is because UV is therefore more energy and more power would be increasingly used a button, if you use the infrared.

Even if I remember correctly, I think UV is absorbed by the atmosphere of more than IR. (Strangely, the atmosphere absorbs much of the radiation that is transmitted to the ground, covered with small holes in the visible light and radio.) I think if we, the UV signal, the younger actually reaches the recipient in that although more energetic photons in the end not as widespread infrared.

Hmmm. . . Only a few assumptions:

1) LED infrared LED, the time available.
2) Perhaps infrared LEDs are more efficient.
3) Everyone knows that the ultraviolet rays of the sun for it poorly, so the manufacturers have chosen to avoid the issue of infrared safety.
4) The lamps emit small amounts of UV light. Perhaps it would be a major source of disturbance.

I really do not know why. I am all these things to think about the problem. Good luck finding out!

Infrared LEDs are much safer than the UV rays, even less spread and how to lower energy, are easier to

UV rays can burn people or distribution of nitrogen in the air.
In addition, infrared light is absorbed more easily.
